A repressed convenience store clerk named Y and a trans cam girl named X have their lives tragically intersect at a bleak strip mall in today’s America.
XY Somewhere in middle America lives “Y,” an aimless, aging male convenience store clerk. Repressed and sexually confused, he’s consumed by resentment and loneliness. Kind on the outside, he masks a dangerous obsession with “X,” a young, local cam-girl. A cam-girl who just so happens to be trans.
“X” is just trying to go about her day. She navigates her existence with resilience, despite facing rejection from dating apps, her family, and aggressive harassment from strangers. The only place she finds solace and community is at Club Z, a queer bar in a local strip mall. Right next door to the convenience store where that weird, older guy works.
When X and Y meet after a disturbing encounter in front of Club Z, Y’s quiet fixation transforms into an active threat. A threat that changes both their lives forever.
